Best Tiger Safari In India (Part 3)

 Tadoba National Park

Tadoba is the oldest and biggest park of Maharashtra, being famous for spotting tigers from open air gypsy. Safaris begins from either of the two entrance gates, namely the Mohurli Gate and the Kolara Gate. Besides tigers, the park is filled with jungle cats, crocodiles, barking deer, sloth bear, small Indian civet, Indian python, sambar, Indian leopard, nilgai, wolf spiders and others.

The best tiger spotting area is the Mohurli gate region. There are also extremely good accommodation facilities in this region. The region will be extremely hot during summer time. If you are determined to visit the region for some tigers spotting action, it is better to explore this forest region during height of summer.

Best Time For Tiger Spotting is between March to May

Safari Timing begins from 5:30 am to 10 am and 3 pm to 6:30 pm (timing changes with season)

Nagarhole National Park

Named after the Nagarahole river of Karnataka, this national park belongs to Mysore and Kodagu and is a part of the well-known Nilgiri biosphere reserve. The park is famous for being a protected habitat for wild animal such as tigers and elephants. Apart from the majestic tigers of the land, the park is filled with leopards, wild boars, sloth bear, bison and more than 260 species of birds.

There are three entrance points for safari; the Veerana Hosahalli, Nanachi and Antharasanthe gates. There are two options to spot tigers. Visitors can take the canter safari or jeep safari which runs deeper into the forest and covers top tiger habitat sites. The second option is boat trips which are open during peak season.

The Best Time For Tiger Spotting is between April to June

Safari Timing begins from 6am to 8 am and, from 3 pm to 5 pm
