Key Monastery

Situated in an altitude of over 13,000 feet in Spiti Valley. Himachal Pradesh, Key Monastery is a particularly important Tibetan religious training centre for Llamas, featuring stunning monastic architecture. The monastery consists of various murals, houses and a good collection of scriptures and Buddha images.

The beautiful 3-storeyed monastery is situated in a remote region, thus it is visited mostly by adventure travellers and Buddha followers. 

Dalai Lama Temple Complex, Dharamshala

Known as the main seat of Tibetan Buddhism or the residence of Dalai Lama, the Dalai Lama Temple is a colourful and enchanting monastery complex where Dalai Lama delivered his sermons.

The temple has a large statue of the Buddha. Morning and evening chants are immensely amazing and spotting the image of llamas performing their daily duties is peaceful. As visiting the complex, travellers must also visit Norbulingka Institute and Namgyal Monastery in the same ares of Mcleodganj, Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh

Tawang Monastery

Tawang Monastery is the largest Buddhist monastery in India and the second largest monastery and the most popular places for a Buddhist spiritual in the world. Tawang Monastery is visited mostly by tourists, monks and Buddha followers. Situated at a height of 10,000 feet in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, the monastery with vibrantly colorful, serene and the architecture, decor and murals are breathtaking in a picturesque setting of the Tawang valley, featuring the decorated tall statue of the Buddha in the main hall and the sacred texts in the library. 

Rumtek Monastery

Popular for being the Dharma Chakra Centre, Rumtek Monastery is a political and spiritual centre of the Kagyu of Tibetan Buddhists which located in Gangtok, Sikkim.

The main temple is beautifully coloured and decorated with a bejewelled golden shrine commemorating the guru of the Kagyu lineage making it one of the best ancient relics and scriptures, as well as the architecture in the world.
